Robert James Stevenson

Robert James Stevenson, 86, of Akron, passed away on November 16, 2025. He was born in Barbour Co., AL on September 19, 1939 to the late Bill and Bernice {Washington} Stevenson.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mamie Stevenson; son Robert Stevenson Jr.; brothers Ricky Stevenson; sisters Odessa Fogle and Peggy Stevenson.

Robert is survived by his loving son, Bruce Stevenson; daughters, Brenda Stevenson and Darletta Turner; grandchildren Latasha Johnson, Christina Stevenson, Christian Stevenson, Valiant Stevenson, Brendan Stevenson, Michaela Machicote, Giorgio Machicote, Isaly Machicote and 16 great-grandchildren; brothers Rozell Stevenson (Mary Kay) and Butch Stevenson (Cynthia); sister Ella Stevenson; brother-in-law MacArthur Milbry (Doris); special friend Mike Gluck; and a host of special nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Robert was a devoted husband and family man. He was hard-working and enjoyed the simple things in life, like barbecue on the grill and family gatherings.
