Robert "Bob" Tarabella, age 94, of Ball Ground, Georgia, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024. Born April 25,1930 in Boonton, New Jersey. He graduated Boonton High School class 1948 and went on to enlist in the Navy Reserves serving in a Seabee division from 1950-1956.
In June of 1959 he married the love of his life, Lenora, and they remained happily married for 65 years. Early in their marriage, Bob and Lenora, moved from Morristown to Rockaway to raise a family. They split their time between Rockaway and their lake home on Lake Hopatcong.
Bob owned Rockaway Liquors and Lakeland Liquors until 1971. He enjoyed being an active member of his community both professionally and socially. After selling both businesses, he and Lenora embarked on their "Big Adventure" where they packed up their four kids and headed south to sunny Gulfstream, Florida. He started building custom homes and engaging in multiple entrepreneurial endeavors in the subsequent years that followed. Bob and Lenora retired to a rural suburb of Metro Atlanta named Ball Ground, Georgia in the late 1990's to be close to their children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Tarabella; mother, Mary D. Tarabella; and daughter, Lori Tarabella Majid. He is survived by his loving wife, Lenora E. Tarabella; daughter, Diane Tarabella Busbee (James Busbee); sons, James R. Tarabella (Angie Tarabella), and Robert M. Tarabella (Leslie Tarabella); and his grandchildren: Michael, Harrison, Alexandra, Joseph, Thomas, Kaitlyn, and Anthony.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 10:00 - 11:00AM at the Whitham-Kanapaux Funeral Home, 20 Keller Ave, Rockaway NJ. A graveside service will immediately follow visiting on Thursday at St. Cecilia Cemetery in Rockaway.
