Robert Taylor Obituary
Robert (Bob) Taylor, age 80, of Fishers, IN, passed away on June 14, 2024, after a brief illness.
Robert was born on March 4, 1944, to parents Emmitt and Margaret Taylor in Columbus, Ohio. After graduating from Bishop Watterson High School, he went on to join the United States Air Force.
Upon completing his service, he moved back home where he met and fell in love with his wife Marjorie, of 54 years. They share two daughters, Amy, and Lisa.Bob completed his bachelor's degree from Franklin University and his master's degree from Xavier University. He used his studies of Criminal Justice to pursue a long and illustrious career in law enforcement, first with the Franklin County Sheriff's department, while also attending the FBI National Academy and then he was hired by Genoa Township Police Department as the Chief of Police where he retired in 2013.
Following his retirement, Bob was highly active in the community he so loved. Volunteering for the food drive, the free clothes store, and at his beloved parish, Immaculate Conception, where he was also a Knight of Columbus.
Bob is preceded in death by son Jonathan, and brothers-in-law Patrick Gordon and Robert Suchy. He is survived by his wife Marjorie, daughters Amy and Lisa, sons-in- law Christopher and Shaun, grandchildren Madison, Ashley, Harper, Jack, and Colin, his sister Katherine as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 4661 Kenny Rd Columbus, OH 43220 from 4-7pm on Tuesday June 25th. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Church, 414 East North Broadway, Columbus, OH 43214 on Wednesday June 26th at 10am. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery and a luncheon to follow at Immaculate Conception Church.
