Robert Eugene Thompson, age 85, of Cleveland Georgia, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025.

Bob Thompson was born on October 23, 1939, in Middletown, Ohio, to the late William Alfred Thompson and Louise Wagner Thompson. Bob was raised in Hollywood California, after graduating from Hollywood High School, Bob joined the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army specializing in Parachute Assault Operations. Bob's career path was as a Golf Course Superintendent, most of his career was spent at PineIsle Resort & Golf Club where he won multiple awards for the Nestle Golf Tournaments. His expertise in green management was sought after by many televised tournaments such as "The 1976 Open" held at the Atlanta Athletic Club where he received multiple awards. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his stepson, Cary.

Survivors include his wife, Adrianne "Angie" Cannady: daughters, Tara Jensen (Frank) and Temsia Weghorst (Mark), Stepdaughter, Lisa Allen (David); grandchildren, Max and Madison, Maya, Kai, David Todd (Grace), Britni (Dillon), Jonathan (Chandler), Carianne, and Will; brother, Ervin "Bill" Thompson; 3 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Cleveland First Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. Mr. Roy Clay will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the fellowship hall, prior to the memorial service. Please enter through the fellowship hall entrance.
