Robert "Bob" E. Treleven, age 79, from Oneida, WI, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from Alzheimer's disease.
Bob was born to the late Erwin and Edna (Smith) Treleven on September 4, 1944. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School with the class of 1962. He joined the Air Force in 1966 where he served our country until honorably discharged in 1970. While in service, Bob received the Air Force Commendation Medal for superior work during enlistment. Bob went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree, Major-Electrical Engineering and Minor-Industrial Management and Communications Technology from MSOE in 1973.
In March of 1973, Bob married Mary Lou Ahrens in Lyons Wisconsin. The first year of their marriage they resided in Decatur, Ill., then moved to Green Bay, WI in 1975. They spent 50 loving years together. They shared the love of music, ballroom dancing, motorcycle rides, group travels, family, friends, and most endearing each other. Bob enjoyed motorcycles, photography, hi-fi, amateur radio (K9VCN), and car repairs.
Bob worked as an electrical engineer in numerous tech companies which include: Videosonics, Inc., Cudahy, WI; Firestone Tire and Rubber Co., Decatur, IL; TEC Systems, De Pere, WI; Institute Paper Chemistry, Appleton, WI; and Brander Engineering, Inc., Ashwaubenon, WI.
In 1977, while working with TEC Systems, Bob was granted a U.S. Patent for the "Ultraviolet Drying Apparatus". In 1990, Bob was designated as inventor of the "Infrared Drying System" in a European patent application with W.R. Grace & Co.- a Connecticut Corp.
Bob is survived by his wife Mary; sister Barb Isgren; brothers-in-law: Dave Griffiths, John (Leslie) Ahrens, Thomas (Deb) Ahrens, and Dr. Michael (Donna) Ahrens; nieces and nephews: Lynn Anderson, David Griffiths, Kris Monzel, Julie Ruder, Carolyn Stock, Christian Ahrens, Kyle Ahrens, Corinne Ahrens, and Adam Ahrens; and Godchild Kelly Adyniec. He was preceded in death by his parents Edna and Erwin Treleven, sister Carole Griffiths; and brother-in-law; Vern Isgren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at the Lyndahl Funeral Home, with Pastor John Jordan officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 2:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place and burial of Bob's remains will be held in the spring at Omro Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Tender Hearts Memory Care Unit and Heartland Hospice for their loving care of Bob.
