Robert Alfred Viehweger (Bobby), 71, passed away unexpectedly in Chicago Illinois on August 1, 2025 with his wife Nada at his side. Bobby was born in Philadelphia, PA on January 14, 1954 to Rudy and Thelma Viehweger. After graduating from high school, Bobby became a Nittany Lion at Penn State University. He graduated from Penn State University with a BA and a MA in Marketing, Economics and started working at the Virginia Commerce Department followed by similar roles in Maryland and Houston.

In 1988, Bobby joined Akzo Nobel as a Business Manager where he worked for 19 years. He was located in Netherlands for 15 years and 4 years in Chicago where he met the love of his life, Nada. Bobby retired in 2007 as a Global Business Manager and started a second career in sustainable energy.

Bobby co-founded Greenlight Energy LLC, a green solutions company, with Nada in Dubai in 2007. In 2009, they sold the company to move back to Chicago and co-founded LED Light Energy LLC.

Bobby was an incredibly smart, loving, and giving person. Always a problem solver and a wonderful friend, he had lifelong friendships that he maintained. A man of many interests, Bobby was a member of the Penn State University Nittany Lions Soccer Team at college. He was a proud Nittany Lion throughout his life and loved watching Penn State football and basketball games. Being from Philadelphia he was an Eagles fan and was ecstatic to see the Eagles win the Super Bowl in 2025. Living in Chicago for many years, Bobby was a Cubs fan and loved going to Cubs baseball games in Chicago or elsewhere. Depending on the season, he would be watching football, basketball, golf or soccer games on TV. Like Nada he loved watching soccer games and was a Manchester United fan. Omar (Nada's brother) and he were always rooting against the other's team! When the weather was nice outside, Bobby loved going to the golf course with his friends with an annual trip with his friends to Hilton Head. He enjoyed taking walks with Nada and biking. At home, Bobby was always busy cooking, reading or keeping busy with the next project.

Bobby is preceded in death by his mother and father Rudy and Thelma Viehweger, his brother Ron and sister-in-law Pam. He is survived by his wife Nada, his daughter Carrie (Brian), grandchildren Sasha and Lulu, Mother-in-law Moubina, Brother-in-law Omar (Maya), Sister-in-law Lina (Fadi) and loving nieces and nephews Ron Jr., Robynn, Luana, Zane, Jude and Aboudi. Bobby will be missed forever by his many friends who were a part of his extended family.

Be at Peace Bobby and smile down from the heavens on your loved ones.
