Robert Weikel Obituary
Robert F. Weikel, 82 years old, of Doylestown, PA passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at home on Friday, December 20, 2024. He was born in Andalusia, PA in 1942 (at home during a WWII blackout) to the late James and Agnes Weikel (Stiglich).
Bob had a heart of gold. He epitomized living with positivity and gratitude, and nothing mattered more to him than family. He graduated from Father Judge High School, attended Temple University, and served in the US Army. Then, he proudly worked for the F.W. Woolworth & Co and rose up the corporate ladder all the way to the historic Woolworth building headquarters in Manhattan. His children learned a solid, energetic work ethic as well as the balance of work and family life from his daily schedule of early trains from Trenton to NYC and return home to Bucks County every night for family dinner. He later transitioned to a second career, joining his superstar wife, Donna in the real estate business.
During the kids' school-age years, the Weikels spent a week each winter skiing at Shawnee Mountain in the Poconos. And once the children were grown and had families of their own, Bob delighted in his grandchildren, taking them on tractor rides and joining them for dips in "Pop's pool."
In addition to his classic love story with 'Donna Lee,' (as Bob affectionately called his wife of 59 ½ years) and his pride in his children and grandchildren, he loved cars and spent many happy hours cruising in his red Corvette.
During his retirement years he enjoyed working in his yard and pool, growing tomatoes, being a Pop-Pop, traveling with his wife and supporting his church's finance committee and building projects.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Donna Lee Weikel (Pascuzzo); four amazing children, Denise Zebley and husband Gareth, Robert F Weikel, Jr. and wife Alison, David Weikel and wife Amy, and Jeffrey Weikel and wife Jessica; brother, James Weikel and his late sister, Agnes Serpiello; seven grandchildren: Morgan Zebley, Connor Zebley, Joshua Weikel and wife Arianne, Madeline Weikel, Matthew Weikel, Brendan Weikel, Isobel Weikel; great grandson, Theodore Weikel, and grandpup, Louie.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, December 23rd from 10am-11am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 5194 Cold Spring Creamery Road, Doylestown, PA. A funeral mass will follow. Interment will be private to the family.
In honor of Bob's life, positive attitude, and love of driving his red Corvette in the left lane, his family would welcome any splash of red clothing or accessories to acknowledge his affection for the color that represents vitality and celebration.
To honor Bob's memory, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church.
