Robert Eugene Wescom

Robert "Bob" E. Wescom, 93, Rockford, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 in his home. He was born June 28, 1932, in Jamestown, N.D. the son of David R. and Thora L. Wescom. He graduated from West High School in Waterloo, IA. Bob married Betty L. Apling on April 26, 1953. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Bob was a member of the Masons for 34 years in Roscoe Lodge 75. After working for 47 years as an Iron Worker out of Local 89 Cedar Rapids, IA and Local 498 in Rockford, he retired. He spent many years serving as Assistant Scout Master with Troop 218 in Rockford. Bob loved spending time with family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survived by his wife, Betty; children, David, Randy (Beth), Rodney (Maureen), Gregory and Julia (Paul) Swanberg; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Edward Wescom.
