Roberta Jean Halligan Taylor,78, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on November 20, 2024. She was born on April 21, 1946 to her parents Robert William and Mae Geraldine Halligan.

“Robbie” as she preferred to be called, was born in Trenton, MI and was raised on a farm in Dundee where she led an idyllic childhood surrounded by open spaces, farm animals, home cooking and good times along the Raisin River with her siblings. Her family moved to Indianapolis in 1957 where she graduated from Warren Central High School in 1965 and married the love of her life John Taylor a year later. They raised two wonderful children William and Anne.

Above all she was an exceptional wife and mother, engaged in running the household and volunteering with her children's educational activities. In addition to professionally crafting amazingly ornate wedding cakes in her spare time, her interests later turned to the medical profession. Working at Community Hospital and later for Dr. Ferrara OB/GYN, which she immensely enjoyed for many years until retirement, when she then transitioned her talents to helping raise her three grandsons.

Most of all she enjoyed socializing. With an unyielding positivity, she could spark up conversation with anyone, anywhere and bring a smile to all faces. Her empathy, great love of music and a voice that naturally raised the spirits of those around her made you feel better about yourself and your life in the darkest of times. Other interests included arts & crafts, card clubs, clogging, reading, Mahjong, family vacations and her pets.

Robbie is survived by her devoted husband, John Taylor, son William (Ruthanne), daughter Anne, brother Tim (Karen), sister Karen (Rigo), grandsons Parker, Carson, and Conner, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Martha.
