Deborah (Boring) Brown, 74, of Fishers, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on October 4, 2025. Born on December 29, 1950, in Indianapolis, Debbie lived a life devoted to faith, family, and service to others.
A proud graduate of Indiana University, Debbie earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees before dedicating her life to teaching. She shaped countless young minds with patience, compassion, and a deep love for learning. She also had a significant influence on the Butler University Teacher Education program. Her impact extended far beyond the classroom, as she touched the hearts and minds of students, colleagues, and friends alike.
Debbie found her greatest joy in her family. She was a devoted wife of 51 years to her husband and a loving mother to her daughters. She especially cherished her role as Grammy spending countless hours making memories by supporting them in their various activities, making noodles or baking pies with them, and hosting “Grammy Camp” during the summers. Her selfless spirit and unwavering love created a legacy of kindness and faith that will live on through them.
Debbie also found community and strength through her faith at Harvest Church in McCordsville. She especially loved sharing fellowship with her beloved group of church friends, the “Harvest Honeys.” She and Mike loved traveling together, spending time in Florida with their family, and making memories that reflected the joy and devotion that defined her life.
She is survived by her husband, Mike; her daughters, Lindsey Alexander (Greg), Courtney Gibson (Brent), and Kristi King (Zach); her grandchildren, Cole, Blake, Ella, Lola, Kate, and Luci; her sisters, Kim Ottilie, Betsy Hunter, and Valerie Kolts. She is preceded in death by her parents, Valan and Jean Boring.
