Robertine Jane (Porter) Logan, 88, of Sunbury, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2024. Robertine was born on March 22, 1936, in Portsmouth, Ohio to her parents Donald Porter and Pauline (Steahly) Porter. As the great-great-great granddaughter of Aaron Kinney, she was born into one of the founding families of Portsmouth which was Ohio's first planned city. Their house still stands today as the 1810 House and Museum. This is something in which she took great pride. As a young girl, she loved riding her horse on her grandfather's farm, which later developed into a love for and collecting of carousel horses. She graduated from Portsmouth High School and married the love of her life Richard T. Logan. She went on to earn her associate's degree in business and in her earlier years she worked as a copywriter for the Portsmouth radio station WNXT. However, she eventually chose instead to focus first on being a mother. To cherish her memory, Robertine leaves her sons Chris (Ann) Logan and Kevin (Terry) Logan; daughter Jennifer (John) Lieurance; sister Linda (Lloyd Porter) Timberlake; grandchildren Kevin, Peter, Sharon, Logan, and Damien; and great grandchildren Jordan and Isobel. She joins in rest her beloved husband of 54 years Richard T. Logan and parents Donald and Pauline Porter. She will be dearly missed.
Robertine was a direct and assured woman. She always spoke her mind; therefore, you always knew where you stood with her. She loved music and art primarily working with pastels to create. She also loved to garden and sew. By all accounts, she was a very skilled seamstress, even making her children's clothes from scratch when they were little. Robertine, however, loved children. Her calling was to be a mother which evolved into being a grand and a great grandmother. Outside of her family, she loved teaching kids. She was a piano teacher for 25 years, also teaching music at the Sunshine Preschool.
Robertine went to church as much as she was able, first attending St. John's in Worthington and later St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Delaware. True to her fashion, she taught children in Sunday school for 22 years.
Arrangements were made with Snyder Funeral Homes, DeVore Chapel in Sunbury, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday, January 9 from 4-6 and on Friday, January 10 from 10-11 after which there will be a funeral service officiated my Pr. Andrew Scholz. There will be a procession to Sunbury Memorial Park for a committal immediately following services. All are welcome to attend.

Bobbie was my older sister and I will greatly miss her. As youngsters, she was always ready to include me by taking me along on her adventures and Mother trusted her to take good care of me. As we grew older, she very patiently taught me to crochet. I remember my practice yarn becoming grey with dirt as I used it over and over until I mastered (?) a particular stitch. I looked up to her in every thing she did and shall always be grateful for her loving patience with her "little sis"!!

I remember Bobbie from visits to the library when I worked there. What a pleasant lady she always was. I have thought of her so often, especially when I go by her home. I often thought how nice it would be to visit. How sorry I am I didn't. God bless and watch over her family always
