George M. (Robin) Wallenfang, 72, went home on December 8th. His passing was very peaceful,
which is a beautiful gift to his wife. This is important because Robin suffered from ill health for
over 35 years. Robin was sustained by his unwavering faith in God. His wife was his caregiver
and cheerleader, making sure he had as much fun as possible in spite of his physical limitations.
Robin was born July 16, 1951 on Bolling Air Force Base in Washington D.C. to Sgt. George W.
(Bugs) and Frances (Ciesielczyk) Wallenfang. His dad retired from the Air Force and the family
moved back home to Green Bay. Robin is predeceased by a precious sister, George Anna
(Mouse) Wallenfang of leukemia when she was 13 years old. In a shocking coincidence, Robin’s
cousin Tony Rentmeester also died December 8th at almost the same time.
Robin was a fisherman through and through. He was in heaven sitting on a dock, drowning a
worm. He didn’t care if he caught anything or not. It was his happy place.
He acquired a bit of independence when Linda got him a mobility scooter. He loved to go to the
Fox River Trail over to Voyageur Park. With a pocket full of dog treats and a pile of brochures
from St. Anne’s Episcopal Church he would talk to anyone who would listen. He loved sharing
the joy he found in his faith. He wanted others to also know Jesus! He had an evangelistic heart
and a passion for people.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda Wallenfang. Also surviving him is his daughter, Mary
Willems and her children: Jadyn, Pierce, and Chance. Susan Laird, his bonus sister. Jean Ford his
dear friend at Odd Fellows. Linda’s siblings: Todd, Katrina, and Erick. Neice and Nephews:
Nathan, Sam, Caleb, and Cora. We will all miss his punny jokes!
Thank you to Odd Fellows Home and Unity Hospice for their excellent care of Robin. Thank
you to Fr. Tyler and our parish family at St. Anne's for their love and support.
A gathering of friends and family for Robin’s funeral is Saturday, December 30, 2023 at St.
Anne's Episcopal Church, 347 Libal St., De Pere, WI 54115. Visitation at 1:00 PM, Service at
3:00 PM.
