Robyn Denise Felton Leadbetter said goodnight to us on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. Robyn was the daughter of Queen Elizabeth Felton and the late James Edward Felton, Jr. She was born in
Augusta, Georgia, on March 22, 1959. Robin grew up in the East Orange Public School system and attended VLD (Vernon L Davey) grammar and middle school. She briefly attended East Orange High School, where she developed a love for cheerleading, sports, and, most of all, modeling.
Robyn was very active in school and outside of school in Little League activities as she assisted with grade school cheerleading and later became the Head Coach for OLMBS. Robyn pledged Tau Omega Chi Sorority, which satisfied her goal of being in an organization to help others reach their full potential in education, career, and community service.
While attending E.O. High School, Robyn also had a passion for fashion, hair, and, most of all, Modeling, which led her to NYC, where she modeled for Big Beautiful Women Modeling Agency.
Robyn later graduated from Columbia High School in
Maplewood, New Jersey. She continued her education at Stephens Technological Institute in
Hoboken, New Jersey.
Robyn later began her career working for the Family business Ebon Services International. Having a love of cooking, she managed and maintained a catering business. She was an excellent chef with a flair for decorating and event planning with an expertise in floral arrangements.
One day, on her way home from school, she met Glen Leadbetter. Glenn and Robyn married in April 1983, and together, they birthed their pride and joy, Kayla Elizabeth Leadbetter, on February 14, 1990. Although Glenn went on to be with the Lord in August 2009, Robyn continued to be Kayla's rock.
From the day Kayla was born, they were inseparable. Wherever you saw one, the other was not far behind. They were a dynamic duo! Robyn had a deep love for her daughter that also extended to her nieces and nephews.
Robyn worked closely with her late brother Corey, in his janitorial maintenance company. After his passing she took over the business and it continued to thrive.
In October of 2020, Robyn ecstatically planned and witnessed the marriage of her daughter Kayla and her husband Jorge Rasteiro. It was beautiful ceremony officiated by her sister, Pastor Cindy Crews, in North Carolina amongst family.
Robyn had a deep passion for cooking. Whenever she was in the kitchen, you knew the food was going to be good. Robyn was selfless and caring. She truly had a big heart. Her love of fashion was evident. You could tell by her extensive wardrobe. She never wore an outfit twice.
