Rodney L. " Bud" Huss, 76, of Millerstown, died at 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. Born on July 3, 1948 in Mifflin, Juniata County he was the son of the late Winey M. and Ruth E. (Youtzey) Huss. He is survived by his son, Shannon L. Huss and his wife, Jennifer L. Cody, and granddaughter, Kathryn Huss all of Bellefonte. He is also survived by a brother, John Huss of Port Royal and a half sister, Lilly Sheib as well as step-grandchildren Thomas Cody, Kimberly Cody and Genevieve Cody. He was preceded in death by sisters, Gail "Misty" Henry and June Huss. Mr. Huss proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam from July 1968 to June of 1969 as a Marine Core Combat Engineer. He was employed as a mechanic at the Navy Depot in Mechanicsburg and New Cumberland Army Depot. Bud was a member of the Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle Club, the Crawford Brubaker VFW Post 5863, The American Legion Post 293 in Mifflintown. Rodney enjoyed drag racing at Beaver Springs, motorcycles, guns and shooting, airplanes, auto mechanics, he was constantly reading WW II and Vietnam war books, and he loved his hound dogs. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Friday, April 11, 2025 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown. Interment will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Following the visitation military honors will be accorded by the Juniata County Veterans Council at 12 noon. Memorial contributions in Mr. Huss's memory may be made to the Juniata County Veterans Council at P. O. Box 1, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
