Roger Derhammer Obituary

Roger was born on November 24, 1945, in Wadsworth, Ohio, to the late Junior and Fern (Jessel) Derhammer. He graduated from Wadsworth High School with the Class of 1963. On July 10, 1965, he married Sandra Riggs in Wadsworth. They shared 60 wonderful years together.
Roger was the proud owner and operator of Derhammer Construction for many years, retiring after a successful career in the construction industry.
He was an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed bowling and playing softball and rarely missed a game when it came to supporting his favorite teams. Roger was a loyal fan of Ashland University women's basketball and Wadsworth boys' and girls' basketball team, and he generously supported local athletics through the Rittman Sports programs, the Grid Iron Club in Wadsworth, and was a proud Democrat. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and lifelong friends.
In addition to his wife, Sandra, surviving are his children, Kim (Randy) Keppeler, Roger A. "Bud" Derhammer, Jr., and Karey E. Miller; grandchildren, Andrew S. (Kelly) Keppeler, Karly E. Keppeler, Alex (Tyler) Adams, Hunter Moore, Kara Moore, Makenna Miller, and Jaxon Miller; great-grandchildren, Grayson, Kinsley, and Aiden; son-in-law, Bob Moore; siblings, Cathy Derhammer (Phoebe Tenney) and John (Lou) Derhammer; brother-in-law, Bill Johnson; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kristie E. Moore; and his sister, Mary Johnson.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at Auble-Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman.
A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Alex Barnes officiating.
