Roger Lee “Boy” Gentry, age 43 of State Road, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Roger was born October 7, 1981, in Forsyth County to Robbie Joe and Barbara Cheek Gentry.
Roger loved to play golf and softball.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Bobby Joe and Jane Gentry.
Survivors include his wife, Shanda Chipman Gentry of the home, sons; Briggs McCoy Gentry of the home, John Bryce Vestal and wife Kurtlyn of High Point, brother; Tony Wayne Gentry of Mt. Airy, grandson; John Brady Vestal, aunts; Sandra Galehouse, Tammy Anderson, uncles; Barry Gentry, Joey Gentry, nephew; Ethan Gentry and several loving cousins.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Crestwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dylan Cook and Rev. Jerry Sparks officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
