Roger Ingram Lindus, 78, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away September 30, 2025, when he earned his angel wings after a blessedly short battle with ALS. Roger was a beloved friend and grand-parent, and parent to Christopher, Adrienne and Lorayne, and brother in spirit Tom Chauncey. Roger was a private individual and a man of faith. He is survived by his son Christopher (wife Katrina), stepdaughters Adrienne Ritchie and Lorayne Ritchie Verhelst, and his two grandchildren Sam and Layne. All of whom had thanked him for his love so that he was able to pass in peace. He also had three additional children, Adam, Greg and Claire.
Roger had a circle of close friends, Tom Chauncey, Marc Zeger, Lance Garrett, and Larry Kowalczyk. His friends added richness to his life. Roger loved his life and his experiences with DPS and DHS. He was a renaissance man with a variety of careers but was most thankful for his opportunity to serve in law enforcement and airport security. Socially he enjoyed his morning coffee with Larry, his Saturday outings with Marc and Lance, and his Tuesday night dinner socials, plus special cigars and whiskey with Tom.
He was born in Pasadena, CA to Pam Steffen and Bud Lindus. He attended Orme and University of California, San Diego and a variety of other higher education universities earning his Masters at Northern Arizona University. He was an avid reader throughout his life and who loved westerns as well as works by the masters. Roger was also an animal lover, his heart dog Bubba Junior (BJ) and the character Mickey, his protectors Tug and Harry. His other love was Linda, who cared for him until his passing and was the love of his life for 33 years. He was also thankful for his doctor, Dr. MH Whited at Mayo Clinic.
In line with Roger's desired privacy there will be no formal services. A private Celebration of Life will be held later. Those who wish to give in his memory may donate to Mayo Clinic Arizona and ALS Arizona.
