Roger McClain Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory - Greenwood Chapel on Feb. 23, 2026.
Roger Alan McClain of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on January 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, loyalty, humor, and quiet strength. Born in Indianapolis, Roger was a proud lifelong resident of Warren Township, and a man who valued family, simple pleasures, and the connections he built over the years.

He graduated from Warren Central High School with the Class of 1971. Roger went on to serve four years in the United States Marine Corps, stationed primarily at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, where he developed the discipline and strength that would guide him throughout his life.

Roger built a varied and dedicated career over the years, including auto sales and portrait sales. He later went on to build a long and respected profession in transportation, spending many years behind the wheel of an eighteen-wheeler. He retired from M&M Transport of Indianapolis after more than 20 years of dedicated service, taking great pride in his achievement of driving more than one million accident-free miles. His strong work ethic and dependability earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. Outside of work, Roger found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was an avid fan of thoroughbred horse racing, NASCAR, and the Indianapolis Colts, always ready to cheer on his teams and enjoy the excitement of race day.

Roger is survived by his loving partner of more than 20 years, Mary Eastes of Indianapolis; her daughter, Heather (Ben) Cronin-Smith, and her grandchildren; Aspen, Hunter, Lalanie, Zebastian, and great grandson Solomon, whom he loved as his own; his brothers, Ronald J. McClain (Pam) and Richard L. McClain of Garland, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss him warmth, humor, and kind heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, C. James McClain, and Betty Jean (Dunbar) McClain-McCormick, and his older brother, Robert Steven McClain.

Roger will be remembered for his steady presence, his generous spirit, and the love he gave to those closest to him. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the many lives he touched. A Celebration of Life will be held April 2026. Details to come. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in his memory.
