Cherishing Roger's memories are his wife LaDonna, son: Roger Shawn Sprouse and wife Sandra Joy (Dennison) of LaVergne, TN, 4 grandchildren: Roger Shawn Waylon Sprouse, Theron Lane Sprouse, Sandra Julianne Waarvik and husband Dane and Jacquelyn Joy Sanderson and husband Andrew and great grandchild: Noelle Sanderson. Also cherishing his memory are several nieces and nephews and a very special nephew: Gary Lee Sprouse. Roger will also be missed by his dog, Daddy's Little "Buddy." In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by two brothers: William Gerald Sprouse and William Edward Sprouse and one sister: Naoma Mae Heath.
Roger worked as a laborer for the WV American Water Company where he retired with 35 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vietnam Era. He attended the Hope's Point Baptist Church of Weston. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. Roger was an active member of the Lewis County Honor Guard serving military families all over Central West Virginia. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Vietnam Veterans of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. Roger was a proud American, Veteran and Christian and will be missed by all whose lives he touched.
Family and friends may gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Tuesday, April 15th, 2025 from 4-7 p.m. Lewis County Honor Guard will stand guard at the casket for visitation. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 16th, 2025 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Daniel Vaughn officiating. The Patriot Guard will lead the procession to Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew, WV where full military honors will be provided by the United States Army and the Lewis County Honor Guard. On-line condolences and life stories in memory of Roger may be expressed at hardmanfamilyfuneralhome.com.
