Mr. Roger Thurman, age 74, of Chatsworth, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, January 30, 2024.
Roger was a member of Cleveland Heights Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death his mother, Cathrine Hall; father, John Thurman; stepfather, Bill Hall; brothers, Johnny Thurman, J.L. Thurman, Billy Hall, and Billy Wayne Haggard; sisters, Kathleen Smith and Neil Marona.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Phyllis Thurman of Chatsworth; sons and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Jennifer Sosebee of Chatsworth, Daniel Thurman of Chatsworth, and Steven Thurman of Chatsworth; daughters and sons-in-law, Valentina and Brian Porter of Nashville, TN, Haley Thurman of Chatsworth, and Judy and Eric Hicks of Sweetwater, TN; sisters and brothers-in-law, Maxine and Joe Bullock of Fyffe, AL and Cathy and Bobby Hall of Calhoun, GA; grandchildren, Colten and Markia Thurman, Matthew Sosebee, Hunter Sosebee, Tanner Sosebee, Autumn Porter, and Alexis Porter; great-grandchildren, Bentley Sosebee, Easton Sosebee, and Colter Sosebee; extended family also survives.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Roger Thurman will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Bro. Bruce Headrick and Rev. Lawrance Wagnon officiating. Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Matthew Sosebee, Tanner Sosebee, Hunter Sosebee, Robert Shoemaker, Tony Ellis, and Steve Ellis. Interment will follow at Eton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Peeples Funeral Home & Crematory of Chatsworth has been entrusted with the arrangements for Mr. Roger Thurman.
