Rohan O. Chevannes

Rohan Chevannes, born on, October 12, 1968, in Kingston, JA was sent to his eternal home on August 6, 2025 at his residence in Albany, NY. Rohan was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in god. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Rohan is survived by his seven children: Nerissa Chevannes (17), Mekhi Chevannes (20), Malakai Chevannes (21), Teanna Telfer (29), Terrance Chevannes (35), Darnell Chevannes (36), and Shakara Lewis (39); Twelve grandchildren: Quincy Wade (22), Daomi Chevannes (14), Kameron Jenkins (13), Zion Chevannes (11), D'Angelo Chevannes (10), Abrielle Chevannes, Daisy Chevannes, Gavin Chevannes (6), Journey Pinnock (5), Kai Pinnock (3), Shylo Chevannes (1), and, Kylo Chevannes (1). Rohan was a passionate movie lover, especially drawn to action-packed thrillers and classic westerns. He found comfort in reggae music, whose rhythm and message resonated deeply with him. Above all, he was an extraordinary father-loving and endlessly supportive. His sharp wit and unforgettable stories brought laughter and warmth to every room he entered. Rohan was the embodiment of a true family man, whose legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Although Rohan's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of love and compassion in all that we do. As you continue to worship Jesus up there, your light will forever shine brightly in our hearts. Friends and Relatives are invited to visit with Rohan's family, Monday, August 18, 2025, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany, NY 12206. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, August 18, 2025, at McVeigh Funeral home with Barbara Lowe officiating. Please enter the funeral home from the rear entrance. Burial will follow in the Albany Rural Cemetery. Rohan's family will serve as pallbearers. There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are to our neighbors who were there for us on the morning of his passing. Also a heartfelt thank you to the Albany EMT, Firefighters, and doctors at Albany Medical Center for doing everything they could.
