Ronald Guianen

Ronald Guianen, 67, of Erie, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2023, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Aug. 9, 1956 in Erie to the late Ronald and Myrna (Zimmer) Guianen. Ron was a graduate of McDowell High School. He worked as a gauge calibrator at Erie Forge & Steel for 28 years; then at Custom Engineering.
A skilled handyman who could fix just about anything, Ron genuinely enjoyed helping family and friends with a wide range of maintenance tasks and home improvement projects. A collector, his subjects included elephants and memorabilia related to the bouncing and carefree Pooh character, "Tigger." Ron loved to travel, visiting such exotic places as Africa and Australia, accompanied by his daughter, Brittany. In his most recent trip to Africa, he particularly enjoyed spending time with the elephants that he had donated to for many years.
Above all else, Ron was a devoted family man who enjoyed getting together with his wife and family for parties and get togethers that often-involved lively card games. Known for his fun, contagious laugh, Ron was gifted with the ability to find humor in just about any situation. To those who knew him, he will always be remembered as a kind, funny, and down-to-earth man who was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Jill Guianen; a son, Jason Guianen; a daughter, Brittany Guianen; a sister, Dawn Guianen (Bill); two brothers, Mark Guianen and Chris Guianen (Becky); and a granddaughter, Adrianna Schwartz (Isaak). Special thanks go out to Jackie Nicolia and Joy Galvin for their unwavering and selfless enthusiasm in providing Ron with such wonderful care.
Friends are invited to call at the Burton Quinn-Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc. West Ridge, 3801 West 26th Street on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
