James D. Guianen, Sr., 82, of Erie, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025 at his residence. He was born in Erie on September 4, 1942, a son of the late Leroy J. and Irene M. Lewis Guianen.
He attended Harborcreek High School. Jim worked as a truck driver and shop worker for Erie Forge and Steel for over 30 years until his retirement in 2004.
Jim attended St. James Catholic Church. He enjoyed riding his Suzuki Blvd motorcycle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Guianen; his son, Todd Guianen; his daughter, Tina Haley; and his first wife, Donna Guianen.
Jim is survived by his wife, Rhonda Gorton Salas Woodring Guianen; his son, James Guianen Jr. (Yvonne) of Erie; his step-children, Mandy Salas (Vincent Sack) of Florida, Paul Salas of Harborcreek, and Travis Salas of Texas; his brother, Gary Guianen (Sue) of Erie and Rick Guianen (Patty) of Edinboro; his sister, Susan Bero (Tom) of Erie; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Services and burial in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Russell C. Schmidt and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., Erie, Pa 16504.
