Ronald Lewis Mitchell, 73, of Pilot Point, TX, passed away from Parkinson's on Saturday, July 12, 2025 in Pilot Point. He was born August 8, 1951 in Northampton County, PA then made his life journey to Texas.
Ron first met Sharon Vest on May 23, 1980, at their workplace. Their bond quickly grew inseparable, and less than a year later, they were married on June 12, 1981, in Grapevine, TX. This led to a loving Christian marriage which spanned 44 years.
A genuine self-made man, Ron enjoyed racing stock race cars, fishing, and playing games with his family. He spent his life traveling the United States driving semi-trucks for a living. Ron even got to drive for the music group Alabama and the music artist Blonde. He loved to take his children with him on his long travels.
Ron was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cecil and Dorothy who cared for him.
He is survived by his loving spouse, Sharon; son, Jeremy and daughter-in-law Renee Mitchell; daughter, Bille Jo and son-in-law Jay Tetrault; son, Richard and daughter-in-law Sommer Mitchell; grandchildren, Colton and Brandon Kelly, Jesse Tetrault; step-grandchildren, Aundrea, Caitlyn, and Kaycee Arkoos; brother, Paul Schuster; nephews, Josh and Dalton Schuster; and great-nephew, Joey Schuster.
Ron lives on in the hearts and minds of his family and friends!
A memorial will be held at 5:30PM, Friday, August 8, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church in Pilot Point, TX. Donations in Ron's memory may be made to The Parkinson's Foundation (https://www.parkinson.org/). Online condolences may be shared at www.slaymemorialfuneralhome.com.
