Ronald Muncus Obituary
Ronald Lee Muncus, 82, of Boonville, was ushered into the presence of his Saviour at 10:03 AM on July 12, 2024, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. Mr. Muncus was born on November 24, 1941.
A dedicated husband, father, and church leader, Mr. Muncus retired from R.J. Reynolds after a 40-year career. He was known as a man who loved to study the Word of God, and he shared the gospel of Jesus Christ with many he met during his life. He was a dedicated Bible teacher.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Mary Lou Collins Muncus, of the home; a brother Tilton (Sherry) Muncus of Jonesville; son Chris Muncus of Jonesville; daughter Dawn (Chris) Matthews of Jonesville; grandson Garrett (Callie) Matthews of Boonville; granddaughter Kayla Collins of Mount Airy and two great-grandsons, Liam and Kaison; brother-in-law, and sister-in-law Roger and Carolyn Collins Holyfield of Dobson; and very special family friend and caregiver, Virginia Taylor of Boonville.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents Victor Wendell Muncus and Ozell Brown Muncus; an infant brother, Ferrell Wendell Muncus; and a grandson, Adam Ross Matthews.
The family would like to express special thanks to Kathy King and Lisa Bochette for their loving care of Ronald during his time of illness. The family also thanks Mountain Valley Hospice and the Woltz Hospice Home for their tender care as well as the beautiful facility in Dobson from which Ronald departed for his Heavenly home.
Since Ronald was a man who diligently studied the Bible as long as he was able, the family would like to share his favorite verse of Scripture. Phillipians 4:19 says, “But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Ronald was also very fond of studying and teaching from the book of Hebrews.
Services will be held at Northwood Baptist Church in Yadkinville on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 pm, with the homegoing service afterwards at 3:00 pm. Officiating the service will be Pastor Tim Webb and Dr. Allen Barker. Interment will take place at Boonville Community Cemetery after the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hugh Chatham Home Health, Mountain Valley Hospice, or Northwood Baptist Church in Yadkinville. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Muncus family.
