Ronald Nagle Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home - Chatham on Mar. 9, 2023.
Ronald Neal Nagle, D.D.S., passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, March 7, at his home in New Vernon.
Dr. Nagle was born in Montclair and raised in Bloomfield, New Jersey. He graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1954, and later graduated number one in his class at Fairleigh Dickinson Dental School in Teaneck, New Jersey, in 1961.
He was a dedicated and beloved dentist in East Hanover for over 40 years, and was granted a fellowship award in general dentistry in 1974. In between graduation and this achievement, he also enlisted and served his country proudly in the US Army Dental Corp, where he achieved the rank of captain.
Dr. Nagle married the love of his life, Irene, in 1961. The pair welcomed sons James and Ronald while Ronald was serving at Fort Dix, New Jersey. After serving, Ronald moved to East Hanover in 1964, where he established his dental practice.
Dr. Nagle and his wife shared a passion for traveling and hiking. Some of their best memories were spent on their trips around the world where they experienced different food, language, and cultures. The couple was even a member of the Seven Continent Club, despite skipping Antarctica due to seasickness. Outside of exciting travel, some of his favorite memories were spent at their second home in Naples, Florida where he escaped the New Jersey winter over the course of the past 30 years.
Upon retirement Ronald entered a new chapter, where he devoted his time and energy to helping raise his beloved grandchildren, James, Kathleen, Kate, and Jack. This chapter was filled with after-school activities, fun day trips, Disney visits, and more. He was his grandchildrens' biggest supporter, beaming with pride at their accomplishments, always reminding them to never, ever give up.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Irene, his son James and his wife Amelia, his son Ronald, and grandchildren, Kathleen, Kate, and Jack. He was predeceased by his parents, Dorothy and Arthur, and his grandson James. He is also survived by many dear friends and family. His legacy lives on through the many people who so deeply loved him.
