Ronald Alan Reed, a longtime resident of Santa Cruz, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2024. He was 85. Ronald was born in Stockton, CA. on November 3, 1938 to his proud parents, Robert Louis Reed and Nancy Jane Whisner. He settled in Santa Cruz as a young man, where he would remain for the next 65 years. He spent those years building many long-term relationships and being very involved in the community. He and his father Robert developed Surf & Sand MHP in Capitola and Ronald went on to manage and grow the business. He also worked in Real Estate management and investing for 60 years. Ronald was a wonderful father and grandfather and truly loved spending time with his family. One of life's joys was attending his children's, and later his grandchildren's, sporting and school events, plays, ceremonies, etc. An avid fisherman, he also enjoyed fishing in rivers and lakes up and down California Ronald is survived by his children, Ron Reed Jr., Randy Reed, Sonya Reed, and Kristin (Chuck) Harper. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Camille Reed, Ryan Reed, Audrey Reed, Gianna Reed, and Tallia Harper. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Nancy Reed. He will be missed dearly by his loving family and many friends. A private service will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to:
