Our beloved son, Ronald "Ronnie" Thomas Roy Jr. was born Monday, February 18, 1991, in Indianapolis,
Indiana. He was received into God's loving arms on Palm Sunday, April 2, 2023. Ronnie was
unconditionally loved by his parents Ron and Stella Roy. He is survived by his sister, Stephanie Roy
Piatek and her husband, Joshua John Piatek, along with their children Julia Louise and John Roy Piatek.
Ronnie is also survived by many Uncles, Aunts and Cousins.
Ronnie attended and graduated from Nease High School in 2009. He graduated from the University of
North Florida in the Fall of 2011, where he studied Business Management. He had many employment
adventures, but he was an Entrepreneur at heart. Ronnie opened a lift truck business in St Augustine,
later he moved it to Green Cove Springs, where he enjoyed working with his hands and meeting new
people.
Ronnie was also an amazing young man, and he was instantly loved by those who met and knew him.
He loved his family, especially the little ones. He also loved his four-legged friends Maxie, Two-lips,
Daisy, Bailey-man, Ms. Wiggles and Auggie. He was always kind to the less fortunate and gave
something even if it was only a smile, recognition or handshake. He was the politest young man and
"Yes or No Sir/Mam" was his go to words.
Ronnie was an adventurer. He loved to scuba dive, wake board, wake surf, paint ball with loud lifted
pickups. He was not afraid to try new adventures. When in doubt, he would "Google it". He was
passionate about eating and working out on a regular basis. He competed in several Spartan events in
and around Jacksonville. He was so proud of himself and so were we. These were the times he was the
strongest and healthiest mind, body and soul.
Ronnie battled with demons over the last few years of his life. He struggled and fought a valiant fight,
eventually too hard to overcome. In the end, only God could protect and release Ronnie from his
suffering. We are deeply heartbroken beyond belief. We know Ronnie is in a peaceful and safe place
embraced by God's loving arms. Someday we will see our Ronnie again.
A memorial Catholic Mass will be on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 9:00 am at the Cathedral Basilica of St.
Augustine, 38 Cathedral Place, St. Augustine, Florida 32084. After church service, an informal lunch
reception for family will be held at the King and Bear Courtside Pavilion, 1175 Registry Boulevard, St.
Augustine, Florida 32092 at 11:00am
In lieu of flowers, Ron and I are asking that if you have a friend or family member that you have lost
contact with, please reach out to them. A kind word lets them know someone cares, which will change
their life.
