Ronald Dale Sousa Aug 25, 1944- July 9, 2024
On July 9th our family lost the most wonderful, giving, and thoughtful man. Ronnie was born on August 25th 1944 to Joseph and Natalie Sousa in Fort Bragg, California. He grew up with his brothers Wayne, and Tim. At Fort Bragg High School, Ron excelled at football, baseball and met the love of his life, Tania Daniels. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on July 4th. After high school, Ron followed in his father's footsteps by working at the mill and as a tree faller in the woods. Ron enjoyed bowling, softball, golfing, hunting with Paul and the gang, riding motorcycles and his horse Nugget, scuba diving and competing in logging events with Gary. But his proudest accomplishment was the birth of his daughters, Ronda Tuomala and Trina MacLean. Ron's daughters remember him as a fun-loving dad who loved music and always supported them. Ron and Tania welcomed everyone with open arms, including their three bonus daughters, Robin, Nicole and Katrina. Ron and Tania have three amazing granddaughters: Brittney Tuomala, Kacie Tuomala, and Lauren MacLean, two bonus grand-children: Sidnie and Daniel Cook and two great-grandsons: Avery and Addison Tuomala. Ron had a second career as a driver for UPS where he met his buddies Dave, Larry, Robbie and Sam. He enjoyed anytime his family and friends would get together such as every Christmas Eve with the Burbeck's. Ron was also blessed with many wonderful neighbors. During a trip to Italy with his cousin Randi, family and friends, Ron discovered Limoncello, which he learned to make and shared with everyone. He had a wonderful relationship with the men in his daughters' and granddaughters' life: Chris Tuomala, Scott MacLean, Danny Cook, and Jharreth Chavez. Ronnie's faith was very important to him as a lifelong Catholic. He never missed mass or a chance to help the church. He was also a member of Kwianas.
