Ronald Ward "Ron" Tacy

Ronald "Ron" Ward Tacy, 74, of Boca Raton, Florida, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 2, 2025.

Born January 28, 1951, in Orange, New Jersey, Ron was the son of James and Margaret Williams Tacy. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, John James Tacy. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Janet Tacy; his daughter, Sara Tacy Markham, and son-in-law, Stephen Markham; and his three granddaughters, Jade Tacy, Malin Markham, and McKinley Markham, who affectionately called him "Grandpa" and loved him dearly. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Tacy, and wife, Janis, along with nieces Jennifer Tacy Taylor, Kimberly Tacy Hunsucker, and their families.

Ron grew up in Fort Lauderdale, where he met Janet while both worked at Publix during high school. After graduating from Northeast High School in 1969, he attended the University of Florida, where he joined the Beta Theta Pi fraternity making long lasting memories and friendships. Ron and Janet, who married in 1974, enjoyed a wonderful life together filled with travel and family.

A devoted husband, father, and "Grandpa," Ron spent close to 20 years at Baer's Furniture and was known for his strong work ethic, warmth, and love of family. His happiest moments were spent with his family, being part of his church family at Grace Community and of course watching sports! Ron was a passionate basketball fan. He spent over a decade volunteering for Boca Hoops, first as a coach for Sara, John, and Jade, but he also managed the league's uniform distribution. Ron loved sports annd he loved the Gators, so he enjoyed this last season watching his Gator Basketball Team bring home the National Championship. He will forever be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, and unwavering devotion to his friends and family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 pm on Friday, September 19th, at Grace Community Church, 600 W. Camino Real, Boca Raton, Florida 33486
