Ronald Vala, 84 passed away on Thursday March 20 2025. Ronald was born in the Bronx, son of Amedeo and Mamie Vala. Ronald was a graduate of DeWitt Clinton High School Class of 1957. On April 5, 1964 in Mt Vernon he married Angela Fuciletti. Ronald worked for the meat cutters union for 50+ years, finally retiring from Price Chopper in Poughkeepsie New York. Ronald was an extreme sports fan, who enjoyed the Yankees, Giants, Rangers and Knicks. When speaking about these teams, he spoke with such passion and new every fact about them from when he was a boy to current day. More importantly, he found his most joyous moments when he went fishing with his cousin Dennis. Ronald is survived by his loving family: Angela Vala, Patti Cobb, Christine Palumbo, Janine Russo, son in laws John Palumbo, Richard Russo, and grandchildren Daniella Palumbo, Frankie Palumbo, Nicholas Russo and Jena Russo. Ronald was predeceased by his sister Nancy Taylor. Visitation will be held from 4pm to 7pm Monday March 31st at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Christian service will be held at the funeral home following visitation. In Lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to his preferred charity, St Judes.
