TOWN OF COLUMBIA – Rons L. Pence, age 80, of Spohn Rd., Ilion, passed away peacefully, on June 18, 2023, at The Grand, in Ilion, with his sister, Janis and her husband, Steve by his side.
He was born on September 12, 1942, in Nunda, NY, the son of Raymond and Margaret (Sitts) Pence and graduated from Mohawk High School, in 1960. Rons worked as a Parts Expeditor, at Remington Arms, Ilion, for over 50 years, retiring in 2012. He was an active member of the Columbia Center Community Church and former grounds keeper and former member of the Church Board of Trustees. Rons enjoyed Nature, including spending time at Canadairgo Lake, gardening and mowing. He also liked crossword puzzles, boating and loved animals.
Surviving family members include his sister, Janis Pence and her husband, Steve Coveleski, Sr., with whom he resided with, on Spohn Rd.; his aunt, Mary Jo Solie, of Green Bay, WI; several cousins; and his canine friend, Zach.
A Memorial Service will be held later at the convenience of the family, at a date and time to be announced, at the Columbia Center Community Church.

In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Columbia Center Community Church, 114 Columbia Center Rd., Ilion, NY 13357, or the Cedarville Fire Department, 960 State Route 51, Ilion, NY 13357.
