Rose Ann (Skeens) Disbennett, 78, of Delaware, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, December 19, 2025, at Knox Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
Born on June 21, 1947, in Delaware, Rose was the daughter of the late Glenn and Eunice (Logan) Skeens. She was a lifelong resident of the community she loved so dearly.
She worked at Ranco Manufacturing, where she was employed for more than two decades. Rose was well-known in Delaware as the owner and operator of Annie's Bake Shoppe, where she warmly served friends, neighbors, and customers for many years.
A faithful member of New Hope Delaware, Rose found joy in quilting and in her collections of dog figurines, Snowbabies, and Cape Cod dishes. Her quiet hobbies reflected her gentle nature and appreciation for simple, meaningful moments.
She had a deep passion for gardening and took great pride in growing both outdoor gardens and houseplants, filling her home with life and warmth. She was also a talented baker who found joy in sharing her creations with others. Her family especially loved her Sock It To Me cakes, banana nut bread, and the many kinds of homemade candy she made. She was well known for making peanut butter cups for her daughter Angie and turtles for her daughter Robin-treats that will forever hold special meaning.
Above all else, she loved her family deeply and devoted herself to them with kindness, care, and generosity. Her love, traditions, and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She was a loving mother whose greatest joy and pride in life was her family. She had a special bond with her beloved dog, Chloe, who truly was the love of her life and always by her side.
She is survived by her daughters, Angela Gale (Kenny) Leisure of Centerburg and Teresa Robin (Scott) Ray of Radnor; grandchildren, Tiffany, Reese, Jake, Andrea, and Kenzie; great-grandchildren, Richard, Miliah, Kya, Amaya, Kasen, Isaac, Saint, Carter, and Kash; brothers Charles William (Karen) Skeens and John Harrison (Sue) Skeens; sister Mary Louise Burns; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her grandson, Jeremy Fish.
Family and friends may gather on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at the Snyder Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive at W. William Street, Delaware. A service celebrating Rose's life will follow at 6:00 pm, led by Pastor Eric Sapp.
