It is with profound sadness and love that we announce the passing of Rose Sara Singleton, a beloved mother, wife, sister, and grandmother who was born on September 18, 1965, in Springfield, MA. Rose's life, was marked by an unwavering spirit and a loving heart that touched everyone who knew her. She was a beacon of light in the lives of her family, friends, and community. As the American poet Maya Angelou once said, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Rose embodied this truth, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know her.
Rose was known for her infectious laughter, her impromptu singing performances that brought joy to her family, and her unyielding faith. She was a proud member of Shiloh Church and worked as a cashier at Mr. Fish. Rose was a woman of immense strength, character, and resilience, and she approached each day with a sense of hope and positivity. She was a cherished wife to her husband, Donald Coleman, and a doting mother to her children, Corey (Cassandra) Singleton, Edwin Crichlow, Donald Jr, and Deborah Coleman. Rose was also a doting grandmother to Daylonna Brantley, Layla Singleton, Donald lll, Adonis Coleman, Nia Coleman, Avielle Coleman, Radelle Hubbard lll, and Logan Rose Roman. Her surviving siblings include William (Amy) Singleton Jr, Lisa Burton, Lori (Kenneth) Jackson, Geneva Singleton, Tahesa Singleton, and Genoa Vaughn. She was a daughter to her surviving mother, Nora Singleton. She also leaves her father-in-law Cleve Coleman.
Rose was preceded in death by her stepfather, William Singleton, grandmother Lecil Thomas, great grandmother Rose Lee Johnson, father Jay Perkins and her mother-in-law Gertrude Coleman.
A viewing for Rose will be held at Shiloh Community Pentecostal Church, 91 Jasper Street, Springfield, Massachusetts, on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Following the viewing, a burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery of Springfield Inc., 426 Bay Street, Springfield, Massachusetts, at 1:30 PM.
Repast will be held at Shiloh Community Pentecostal Church, 91 Jasper Street, Springfield, Massachusetts, at 3pm.
