Roseann Johnson Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Roseann Johnson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025 at the age of 88.
Born in Brooklyn, New York on February 17, 1937, Roseann was raised in the Bronx and Yonkers and was a proud graduate of Saint Barnabas High School. Early in her career (or work life), she worked at the Federal Reserve Bank, where she met the love of her life, Vincent F. Johnson. The two married on May 10, 1958, and went on to share a beautiful life together.
Roseann and Vincent made their home in Old Bridge, New Jersey, where they raised their family and lived for decades. Their home was filled with love. Roseann was the devoted mother of three children - Mark V. Johnson, Cathleen Fitzgerald, and Eileen Laszlo - and the cherished grandmother of eight: Bryan, Erin, Matthew, and David Fitzgerald; Morgan and Madison Johnson; and Aidan and Griffin Laszlo. Roseann was also the proud "Gigi" of three great-grandchildren: Liliana and River Fitzgerald, and Nora Rose Goldstein.
Roseann was a woman of many talents and endless energy. She worked at the Old Bridge Public Library, waitressed alongside her dear "Southwood Mom" friends, and for many years co-owned and operated the Spotless Shade & Blind Company with her husband.
She loved to cook, garden, decorate her home - especially at Christmas - and was always up for a shopping trip. She spent years enjoying the Englishtown Auction. She enjoyed a good beach day, a tennis match, travel and time spent with her family.
A woman of faith, Roseann was a longtime communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, where she served as a catechism teacher, parish council member, and active participant in the church knitting group.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Vincent, her parents William and Eleanor Hobbins, her brother William Hobbins Jr., her grandson David Fitzgerald.
She is survived by her loving children and their spouses Scott Fitzgerald, Judy Johnson, and Andy Laszlo, her grandchildren and their partners Christina Licitra, Jason Goldstein, Dan Seel, and Christian Jocham, her brother-in-law Thomas Johnson, her sisters-in-law Blanche Johnson, Frances Johnson, Mary Sirotniak and Maxine Hobbins, as well as many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Roseann's warmth, generosity, and devotion to her family touched everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. Until we meet again, we will honor her by loving others the way she loved her family.
Visitation will take place at Old Bridge Funeral Home, 2350 Highway 516, Old Bridge, NJ 08857 on Friday, November 21, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, One St. Thomas Plaza, Old Bridge, NJ 08857.
