Rosemarie Williams, age 76 of
Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Stonebridge Adams Street. She lived a life full of love, creativity and compassion.
She was born on August 5, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of William and Mary (O'Conner) Secor. Rosemarie was united in marriage with Gerald D. Williams on February 27, 1971, and to this union two children were born. They shared 25 years together before his passing in 1996.
Rosemarie was a devoted homemaker and nanny who cared deeply for others. She raised two children and, as a grandmother, found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Her nurturing spirit extended to those families whose children she cared diligently for-the last one starting her freshman year at college.
A woman of many talents, Rosemarie enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, and sewing. Creating beautiful things with her hands was one of her greatest passions, and she took great pride in the art of crafting.
She loved watching old British television shows, often finding solace and enjoyment in their familiar, gentle rhythms. However, what brought her the most joy was being surrounded by family. She treasured every moment spent with her loved ones, especially being active with her grandchildren.
Born and raised in south Chicago, Rosemarie always held a special place in her heart for the city where she grew up. She loved visiting it, reconnecting with old memories, and sharing her deep connection with her roots.
A lover of travel, Rosemarie also enjoyed going on Caribbean cruises, where she found relaxation, adventure, and a new sense of wonder. Throughout her life, she made many cherished memories and built a legacy of kindness, creativity, and love.
Rosemarie's presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, creativity, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Survivors include her loving son, Sean Williams of Russellville, Mo.; three grandchildren, Faith Browner (Emma), Alysha Williams, and Donnie Williams; one great grandchild, Hugo Browner; siblings, Bill Secor (Pat) of Illinois and Patty Jordan (Johnny) of Florida; several nieces and nephews, Katie, Jill, Jackie, Sam, Jessica and Tim; brother-in-law, David Mueller and sister-in-law, Joan Mallory.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Erin Williams; and one sister, Lauren Mueller.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Freeman Mortuary.
