Mr. Roy Evans, Jr., age 77 of Ypsilanti, Michigan, entered this life on October 19, 1946 in Seymour, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late Roy, Sr., and Elsie Everhart Evans. He was raised early in life in North Vernon before the family moved to Indianapolis where he graduated in 1965 from Arsenal Technical High School. He served in the United States Marines serving as a sergeant in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged and returned home. On May 31, 1975, Roy was united in marriage to Deborah Jeanne Mulett at the Hanover United Methodist Church in Hanover, Indiana. This happy union of 49 years was blessed with a daughter, Carrie. He worked as an over the road truck driver for over 40 years with Estes Trucking of Columbus, Ohio. The family resided in Columbus for 38 years before they retired to Ypsilanti, Michigan. An avid University of Michigan fan, in retirement Roy enjoyed working in his yard and tailgating on Wolverine game day. Roy died on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 7:01 a.m. at the Norton King's Daughters' Hospital Emergency Room in Madison, Indiana.
A LOVING FAMILY
Roy will be missed by his loving wife of 49 years, Deborah Jeanne Mulett Evans of Ypsilanti, Michigan his daughter, Carrie Evans of Ypsilanti, Michigan; his mother in law, Thelma Mulett of Hanover, Indiana; his brothers in laws, Russell Mulett and his wife, Lisa of Paxton, Illinois, and Keith Mulett and his wife, of Englewood, Colorado; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Evans, Sr., his mother, Elsie Everhart Evans Goins, his father in law, Fred Mulett, his brother, Tom Evans, and his sister in law, Donna Clark.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE
The family will be planning a celebration of life to be announced at a later date. Interment will occur in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana with military honors provided by the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion.
MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS

God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. I worked with Roy years ago at Hills and most recently at Estes. I always enjoyed talking with him, he seemed to always make me laugh. Best wishes for you. Sorry for your loss.
