Roy Arlin Glenn, 83, of Hindsville, Arkansas, passed away on April 22, 2025 at the home surrounded by family.
Roy was born on December 2, 1941, to Everette and Opal (Davenport) Glenn. He spent his life in Madison County, where he worked hard, loved deeply, and made everyone around him laugh.
Roy was married to the love of his life, Ethel (Dutton) Glenn, for 62 years. Together they raised three children: Shannon Glenn, Scott Glenn, and Elizabeth (Glenn) Watkins. He was preceded in death by his son Scott, his parents, his brother Ray Glenn, and his sister Lola (Glenn) Markham.
He is survived by his wife Ethel; his son Shannon Glenn (Rosalynn Edmisten); and his daughter Elizabeth Watkins (Steve Watkins). His brothers Leon Glenn and wife Daisy, Chester Glenn and wife Marsha, and Charles Glenn and wife Melissa. Roy was a proud grandfather to Ashley Smith (Josh Smith), Autumn Glenn (fiancé Stephen Benton), Grant Glenn (Taylor Glenn), Patrick Watkins (Mallory Watkins), Emily Watkins, and Benjamin Watkins. He also leaves behind three great-grandchildren: Arlin Smith, June Smith, and Grayson Glenn.
Roy worked for Hiland Dairy for over 40 years. He was the definition of a hard worker-dedicated, dependable, and tough as nails. While working full-time, he and his family ran a blueberry and cattle farm for many years. After retiring, he stayed busy raising cattle, often with his grandkids by his side.
He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and he never passed up a chance to share a story or a joke. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who he doted on with pride and love.
Roy will be remembered for his work ethic, his sense of humor, and his deep devotion to his family. His legacy lives on in the stories shared around the kitchen table, the memories made on the farm, and the lives he helped shape.
The family will receive friends 5:00 PM-7:00 PM, Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Brashears Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be 10:00 AM, Friday, April 25, 2025, at Wesley Cemetery with Leon Glenn officiating. Pallbearers will be Grant Glenn, Patrick Watkins, Benjamin Watkins, Steve Watkins, Josh Smith, and Stephen Benton.
Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
