Roy "Skip" Vachon Obituary
On Wednesday, June 19, 2024, Roy A. "Skip" Vachon passed away peacefully in his sleep holding his beloved daughter's hand.
He was born on Saturday, July 25, 1936, in Chicago, IL to George Vachon and Alacoque (Riha) Vachon.
Skip was preceded in death by his father, George, his mother, Alacoque, his brothers, Charles, George, and Paul, and his sisters, Jacqueline and Patricia. He also was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Walter, and his mother-in-law, Marion.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Leni, his beloved daughter, Cherie, her husband, Ron, cherished son, Steve, his wife, Betty, and his precious granddaughter, Cheyenne, her fiancé, Duncan.
His love of the outdoors included hunting with his son, father-in-law, and best friend, salmon fishing with his son, father-in-law and his brother-in-law, Ted.
But his passion was golf and after serving his country in the Army, he completed a successful career as a typographer running a film department. He retired and became a golf course superintendent and eventually retired to Surprise, AZ where he could golf year-round.
