Ruby Lynn Jacobs was born in Farmington, New Mexico on November 12, 1962 to Doyle Franklin Jacobs and Willa Doris Willard. She had three siblings LeeAnn Jacobs, Doyle Dean Jacobs and Leona Pearl Jacobs. Her Father worked in the oil field and moved to Red Mesa area, then when her sister started high school the family moved to Montezuma Creek, Utah so they could ride the bus. Ruby went to Montezuma Creek Elementary School then San Juan High School until 1974 when she finished her senior year at Whitehorse High School. She moved to Blanding in 1978 and she and Jake Montano became a couple. They were married on April 12, 1990. She worked at the Mini Mart and was good friends with Rex and Allie Nielson. She and Jake have lived in Blanding all of their married life. She was a bright and smart lady. She took some secretarial courses and worked several jobs.
She was never able to have children but was a stepmom to her nieces, nephews, grand nephews and grand nieces. She was involved in all their lives and was a guiding force.
She died unexpectedly April 9, 2023. She had personal struggles and health issues. She left behind her husband Jake Montano, her sister LeeAnn Jacobs, niece Jessica Sanchez and children Ashley Cly, Kaden Cly and Devin Cly; nephew Michael Sanchez and child Dylan Sanchez. She had great nephews Sinjin Lang and family, Isaih Jacobs, Isaac Jacobs and family, Matthew Jacobs and family. She is preceded in death by her parents Doyle and Doris, brother Doyle Dean, sister Leona Pearl, nephew Allen Franklin. She will be missed so very much.
Services for Ruby Montano are April 21st, 2023 at 1 pm at the San Juan Mortuary. Everyone is welcome to come say goodbye. Special thanks to Danny and Amanda Palmer for the assistance and guidance and to the police officers and EMT's who came to help, for the kindness and respect with a difficult time. Thank you to the friends and neighbors who have come and gave their condolences and support.
