Russell Ward Obituary
Born in Stoughton in 1943, he was the son of the late Russell and Meltha (Delano) Ward.
Russell was a proud veteran of the USMC and National Guard and a retired MBTA employee who enjoyed working in his yard and fixing things around the house. He also enjoyed the time he spent working at Wal-Mart as well as spending time with his family.
Loving husband of 61 years to Beverly A. Ward. Cherished father to Melodie Colon and her husband Jack of NH, Michael Ward and his wife Ellen of Tewksbury, Tracie Holden and her husband David of Revere, Helen McGrath and her husband Kevin of Weymouth, and Russell A. Ward, III and his fiancé Nicole of East Wareham. Brother to Lorraine Rushing of Texas, Dennis Ward of Fall River, Jennifer Ward of Palmer, the late Theodore Barber, and the late John J. Ward. Also survived by his 9 grandchildren, Nicole, Jack, Gina, Sidney, Taylor, Kevin, Hailey, Lindsey and Brendan and 4 great grandchildren, Hadley, Hazel, William and Colton. Also survived by many nieces and nephews a well as his faithful companion Sophie and his protectors Ranger and Chief. A special thank you to his honorary granddaughter, MiMi McGrath for her help in taking care of Papa.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street). A funeral service will be celebrated Friday, April 5 at 10:30 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street). Burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Roxbury.
