Gerald Arthur "Rusty" Clark
May 31, 1957 – January 16, 2026
Gerald Arthur Clark, lovingly known as "Rusty," was a beloved husband, father, brother, and son. He was known for his deep love of family, his faith, and his love for the outdoors. On January 16, 2026, Rusty was welcomed into Heaven at the age of 68.
Rusty was born in
Houston, Texas, the firstborn and only son of Gerald Arthur Clark, Sr., and Annie Clark, and the cherished brother of his sisters, Kelli and Suzie. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Peggy, and a proud father to his three children, Jonathan, Michelle, and Daniel.
He graduated from Memorial High School in 1975. He went on to pursue higher education at Baylor University, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1979 and a Master of Business Administration in Economics in 1982.
Rusty met the love of his life, Peggy, through a chance encounter with friends. After a "meet cute" during a group ski trip and several years of expectant friendship, a loving bond was formed that could not be broken. They were united in marriage in 1982 at Fairhaven United Methodist Church and were blessed with their three wonderful children. Houston became their home, where they attended church together and built a life grounded in faith and family.
Rusty found joy in hunting, fishing, woodworking, crafting handmade knives, gardening, guitar playing, singing hymns and worship songs, and serving his church. He was deeply involved in his church community, dedicating much of his time to teaching classes and leading worship alongside Peggy. He had a profound love for the Lord and for serving others through his faith. Above all else, Rusty was an amazing father and a devoted provider who always placed his family first.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother and father in 2019 & 2020, respectively. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 43 years, Peggy; his children, Jonathan, Michelle, and Daniel; his sisters, Kelli Smith and Suzie Austin; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
