Ruth Anderson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory on Feb. 22, 2026.
Ruth Ann (McBrayer) Anderson passed away peacefully on February 21st, 2026, in Pendleton, Indiana, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Morehead, Kentucky, to Joseph and Viola "Ola" (Petitt) McBrayer. Ruth lived a life centered on faith, family, and the simple joys that made each day meaningful.

On May 16, 1959, she married the love of her life, Clester "Cless" Anderson. They shared many devoted years of marriage until his passing in 2013. Together they built a family rooted in love, strength, and unwavering support.

Ruth found happiness in life's quiet pleasures. She loved to knit and crochet, often creating special handmade treasures for those she loved. She took great pride in her vegetable garden, especially tending to her green beans and corn. An avid reader, she enjoyed just about anything she could get her hands on, particularly magazines, and could often be found relaxing with a good word search puzzle and a fresh cup of coffee close by.

Above all else, Ruth Ann cherished her family. She loved being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Her greatest joy was simply being together, sharing stories, laughter, and love.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Denny) Jaynes of Wabash, IN; son, Clark J. (Vonda) Anderson of Anderson, IN; son, Samuel W. (Dawn) Anderson of Cuba, MO; son, David Anderson of Markleville, IN; grandchildren, Brad Anderson, Greg Anderson, Tyler Jaynes, Travis Jaynes, Taylor Jaynes, Jacob Anderson, Matthew Anderson; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by husband, Clester "Cless" Anderson; parents, Joseph and Viola McBrayer; sisters, Martha L. Myers, Christine Kiser, Pearl Green, and Lillie Catron; brothers, Donald McBrayer and Edward McBrayer.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26th, 2026 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd Street, Anderson, Indiana 46013.

The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM with Pastor David McConnell officiating at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory.

Ruth's graveside service will take place at Grove Lawn Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Rawlins House for the compassionate care they provided to Ruth.

Ruth will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her hardworking nature, and the warmth she brought into every room. Her legacy lives on in the generations she adored and the many lives she touched.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer's Foundation, 322 Eight Avenue, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
