Ruth Jeffrey Obituary
Ruth Irene Jeffrey nee Lake passed away on May 17, 2023. She was predeceased by her husband John W. (Jack) Jeffrey; son Richard Jeffrey, two grandchildren Jonathan Hausrath, the son of daughter Diane and Pete Hausrath & Trent Baker, the son of the late Richard Jeffrey, and great grandchild Dane Jeffrey, the son of grandchild Scott & Tracey Jeffrey.
She is survived by son James and Peggy Jeffrey; son David Jeffrey & Elaine Jones; daughter Diane Hausrath; son John Jeffrey; daughter Patricia and Leonard Bosshammer, numerous grandchildren including Dixie Donlon and husband Steve, Colleen Marchant, Scott and wife Tracey Jeffrey, Penny Jeffrey and Adam Bohnert, Debbie Jeffrey Neuman, Heidi Hausrath Tikkanen and husband Geo, Randy Jeffrey and Jennifer Jeffrey; children of the late Richard Jeffrey and his wife Amelia. Lastly, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Ruth graduated from the Sherburne High School in 1946. She was an avid gardener, both at home, and in the positions she held working for local retailers, in the garden departments. A lifelong resident of Sherburne where she raised her children in the home she lovingly created for over 70 years.
Ruth went to work at the Lilly White Mill after raising six children. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at 11am Saturday, August 12, 2023 in the West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne.
Services have been entrusted to the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 South Main Street, Sherburne, NY 13460.
