Flemington/Peoria - Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Ruth Marie (Mimi) Patterson, 92, was born August 13, 1932 in Somerville, NJ. On July 28, 2025, she went home to be with the Lord peacefully surrounded by her son, daughter in law, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Those who went before to prepare the way were her parents Robert and Ruth Etta Amerman, her siblings Louise, Roy, and Barbara, granddaughter Gracie and most of all she was reunited once again with her husband Sam. She is survived by her children Doug (RoseAnn), Norman (Gail), grandchildren Alexis (Logan), Nicholas (Addison), Katie, Johnny (Keila), and great grandchildren Avery and John Joseph. It gives us great peace knowing we will see her again in heaven. Ruth was many things, but if you ask her what her greatest joy and accomplishment in life was, she'd say "Her Family". She lived in New Jersey all of her years, until the last few months, when she made the bold and courageous decision to move to Peoria, Arizona to be with her grandchildren, son and daughter in law in her final months here earth side. If you knew Mimi, you knew a big part of her life was her love of cooking and baking. She made hundreds of beautiful and intricate wedding cakes for family and friends alike, over the years. She was well known for any and all things that she made, and her love of cooking and baking was passed along to her two granddaughters Alexis and Katie. She loved to throw large picnics and gatherings at her home and they were always filled with good laughs, card games, and fun memories. Everyone who knew Mimi knew she loved her family immensely, especially her grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Another big piece of her story was her 40+ years as a school bus driver for the local school. She had such a huge impact on multiple generations of kids throughout the years. Hundreds of kids crossed her path in her time as a school bus driver and they were incredibly blessed to be a part of her story. She loved them like her own. We will be honoring Mimi with a "Celebration of Life Memorial Service" Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Church of the Valley, 7007 W Happy Valley Road, Peoria, AZ 85383 and followed by a gathering for food and fellowship at her son and daughter in law's home at 8614 W. Briles Rd Peoria, AZ for her Arizona family and friends. There will be a "Celebration of Life Memorial Service" for her New Jersey family and friends, Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 11:00 am at Neshanic United Methodist Church at 301 Maple Ave, Neshanic Station, NJ 08853 with a graveside service immediately following at 12:30 at Neshanic Cemetery Association 688 Amwell Road Hillsborough, New Jersey 08844. Following the services will be a "Farewell Picnic" with food and fellowship at Ruth and Samuel's home at 80 Pleasant Run Road, Flemington, NJ 08822. It's not good-bye, It's see you later" Mimi.
