Ruth Wako passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, in Seattle, Washington, after a long and courageous battle with lupus. She was 52 years old.
Born in Ascot, London, on September 12, 1972, Ruth was the beloved daughter of Aster and the late Solomon. She spent her early years surrounded by family, faith, and a love for learning. Ruth pursued her education at Walla Walla Community College where she earned her LPN degree before continuing at Washington Adventist University in Tacoma Park, Maryland.
Though trained as a nurse, Ruth's greatest calling was as a homemaker, where she poured her heart into creating a warm and welcoming home. Her life was deeply rooted in her faith as a devoted Seventh-day Adventist, and she shared her love for God through her generosity, kindness, and unwavering spirit. Ruth was also a gifted cook-known for creating meals that nourished both body and soul-and she found joy in reading and spending time with loved ones.
Ruth is survived by her mother, Aster, and her siblings Elsie, Obol, Hanna and Ephrem and Gennut. She will be remembered for her quiet strength, deep faith, and the love she gave so freely to those around her.
A celebration of Ruth's life will be held on August 19, 2025. Flowers may be sent to her home.
Ruth's life was a testament to her incredible strength, boundless love, and enduring grace. She will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
