I met Ruth when she and her three children lived in Colorado Springs, CO during Dick’s tour in Vietnam. We stayed in touch all the ensuing years through Christmas cards.
Ruth was a very talented woman. I still cook some of the recipes she gave me. My heartfelt condolences to her daughter and son.

We are so privileged to have had Ruth a part of our lives but unfortunately for far too short a time and to also witness the joy she brought to Bob. Lowell and Marcelyn McCalla

Ruth was a very welcoming & warm woman. I first got to know Ruth when she was with Dick Weissner. She made a big difference in Dick's life, as she did with Bob. Ruth was genuinely warm and caring. My prayers of comfort and healing for all family and especially Bob. Peace & Blessings. Julie Eszlinger Jensen

I have wonderful memories of meeting and teaching French to Ruth and Dick in the 1990s before they moved to Chantilly, France, near Paris. They inspired me to write a book to make Spanish and French grammar fun and easy. Years later, I ran into Ruth at a restaurant in Eden Prairie. Dick had passed away. She took another French class from me (such fun, games, and laughter!), and we stayed in touch. I loved buying her lovely photo greeting cards as sympathy cards (ironic now that I think back) and saw her each year at her card sale. I read her book about Dick Wiessner. It was a shock to find out last week that she had cancer and was in hospice. I had planned on calling her to reconnect and tell her I loved her and that death was union with God, and heaven was a place of bliss and total joy. Maybe in some small way, she will "see" this post. I will be at her memorial service to rekindle our friendship, even if we are on different sides of the veil that separates physical from non-physical.

Hearing her sing Christmas carols at my grandparents as several of us gather by the piano.
