Ruthie Lee "Tut" Stephens transitioned into her new life on August 15, 2025.

Ruthie was born January 27, 1939 to Eraces Stephens, Sr. and Roberta Wesley Stephens in the rural community of Milam County, Yarrellton, Texas. Ruthie was the fourth child born into the union of Eraces Stephens, Sr. and Roberta Wesley Stephens. She attended school in Yarrellton. She confessed Christ at an early age. She enjoyed serving the Lord. She was no stranger participating in services Devotion at any time. Ruthie was a devoted and faithful member of Jerusalem Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Rufus Glynn, Jr. There she sung in the Senior Choir, served as its secretary and she served on the culinary committee. Her favorite song was "There's Not a Friend Like Jesus".

Tut had a memory like a computer. She remembered dates of all church services, birthdays and names like you wouldn't believe. She loved to read. Ruthie later became a member of Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor L. D. Meriam.

Ruthie loved her family. She was the care giver notonly for her younger siblings, but her nieces, nephews, and the greats.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eraces Stephens, Sr. and Roberta Wesley Stephens and eight siblings.

She leaves to cherish her memories, a brother, Eraces Stephens, Jr. (Vivian), sisters, Thadys Stephen and Thelma Walker, all of Cameron and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Dedicated or devoted nieces, Nesha Lavan, Angela O'Bryant, Makeba Washington, and Semona Jones and special friend Ms. Angelita McQuinn

She will be missed very much by her family and the ones who knew her. However, her memories will live on forever.

A homegoing service will be 3:30 pm Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Cameron Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
