Ryan M. Douglas, 30, of Amsterdam passed away Friday June 16,2023 unexpectedly at his home.
He was born at Bellvue Maternity Hospital in Niskayuna on July 15, 1992 a son of Richard W. and Melissa Dormond Douglas Jr.
He was a resident of Amsterdam most of his life and was a graduate of Amsterdam High School Class of 2010. He played Football and Baseball for Amsterdam High.
Ryan received his Bachelor's Degree in Applied Math and Statistics from Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY where he was a member of the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity. He was employed for General Dynamics in Pittsfield Mass as a Systems Engineer. He loved sports and was an avid reader.
Ryan's positive impact on family, friends, and colleagues is immeasurable. The happy memories he leaves his loved ones are irreplaceable.
He is survived by his loving parents, Richard "Rick" and Melissa Dormond Douglas Jr. of Amsterdam. His maternal grandparents, Iris and Gilbert Dormond and paternal grandparents, Dick and Anne Douglas. His aunts and uncles, Gilbert (Heather) Dormond Jr., Christine (Tom) Grille, Jessica (Mike) Thompson, Louis (Thania) Dormond and Elizabeth "Beth" (Frank) Hart. Several cousins and friends also survive.
Funeral services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023. Please leave condolences online at www.brbsfuneral.com.
