Sadie Silverman Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 11, 2024.
Sadie "Sandy" B. Silverman, age 87, of Greeley, Colorado passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024. Sandy was born in Fort Lupton, Colorado to Dewey and Ola (Revels) Knox. She was the only girl, with five older brothers.
After graduating from high school, Sandy moved to Hawaii where she was a nanny for a couple of years. She worked for a time as a CNA at the Trinidad Hospital in Colorado, and spent many years working as an underwriter for an insurance company.
Sandy was extremely adventurous, and was passionate about seeing the world. She traveled extensively around Europe, Vietnam, Turkey, and even had a home in Mexico. Sandy lived in New Mexico for quite a few years, and enjoyed having horses, goats, and many other animals to care for. She was an avid reader, and also enjoyed watching Westerns.
Sandy was a really hard worker; always on the go, but her most cherished time was spent with her family.
Sandy is survived by her son, Ray Copple, and his wife, Michelle; daughter, Sheila Mayeda, and husband, Ryan; brothers, William Knox; George Knox, and wife, Lenore; Frank Knox, and wife, Betty; as well as six grandchildren, Jade, Sydney, Mikayla, Anthony, Makyla, and Asher.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Ola Knox, her husband, William A. Silverman; and brothers, Dwayne and Floyd Knox.
She will be placed with her mother at Hillside cemetery in Fort Lupton at a later date.

My first memory of Aunt Sandy was on Lyden Lane in Commerce City, she stayed with us, I was probably 6years old and I thought she was an actress, she was perfectly beautiful, and flew to Hawaii. She also took me to the drive -in theater for my first time and she bought me a Big Hunk candy bar, still love them. Great memory's that I have and will always treasure.
Love Rhonda

I remember Aunt Sandy rescuing us girls cousins from the unrelenting teasing from our Uncle's and boy cousins. She was alot of fun to be around. She was very thoughtful and kind. She had a quiet gentle way about her. And had an unmistakable voice.
We will miss her.
Love, Tim and Marla
